About Jasio.Net

Hi,

I am the owner of Jasio.Net, and I am 19 years old, and I currently reside in BC, Canada. My skills extend over a wide area, but I specialize in HTML, PHP, and Networking. I design webpages on a contract basis, usually utilizing a combination of PHP and HTML as well as Photoshop CS to build and design the site. I have 6 years of experience in designing websites, and 7 years of HTML/DHTML knowledge behind me. I have been studying networking on and off for the past 3-4 years. I am proficent in the following operation systems:

Windows 98.
Windows 98SE.
Windows 98ME.
Windows 2000.
Windows 2000 Pro.
Windows 2000 Advanced Server.
Windows 2003 Web Server Edition.
Windows XP Home.
Windows XP Pro.
Mandrake Linux.
Debian Linux. SuSE Linux.
Red Hat Linux 9.
Red Hat Linux Enterprise 3.0 ES.
FreeBSD 4.9/5.2

I have extensive experience in operating and maintaning game servers based off of both Windows and Unix, for over 3 years, and I have gained substantial knowledge as to the specifications, performance, and network usage of servers, both game and web.

I was the founder of Fat Caliber Hosting webhosting company. Our servers were located out of The Planet's Datacenter in Dallas, Texas and Sagonet's Datacenter, in Tampa, Florida. Running over 16 Tier 1 grade lines to multiple OC-48 SONET rings, totally over 24,000Mbps of combined upstream bandwidth, allows for an incredible amount of bandwidth and performance. The servers were all Dell PowerEdge rackmount servers with at least Dual 2.8Ghz Xeon's running Redhat Linux Enterprise 3.0 ES. After about one and a half years of operation, Fat Caliber Hosting was purchased out by Worry Free Webhosting, in a friendly purchase. It was my decision to allow Fat Caliber to be purchased due to increasing school load, and University just months away. I believe that this was the right decision, and it gave me the necessary freedom and time that I require for my studies.

Apart from Networking, and Internet related subjects, I also enjoy building custom PCs for friends, and informal clients. I enjoy playing around with custom PC cooling modifications such as air (convection cooling), water cooling, and passive heat-pipe cooling.

I am currently a student an undergraduate at the University of British Columbia, enrolled in the Faculty of Arts. My interests and courses include Psychology, English Literature, European History, Chemistry (Molecular/Quantum), and Biology (Ecology/Molecular Biology).

I enjoy FPS (First Person Shooter) games. I tend to play games such as Half-Life 2, Counter-Strike Source, Rainbow 6:Raven Shield, and Call of Duty 2. Apart from FPS games I enjoy simulation games such as Freelancer. I play the odd RPG (Role Playing Games) and RTS (Real Time Strategy) but they dont have the thrill that FPS games have.

I am proficient in Photoshop 5/7/CS, as well as Bryce 5. I also write small scripts for IRC programs, my latest being my modular IRC bot system known as 'Bot-Kore 2.x' which allows for the quick deployment and development of custom bots based off of a set of variables that are already incorporated into the program. Basically you just add the things you want into a simple text file and the bot will read em off once you start the program, all you have to do is assign a trigger.

I do photography as a hobby. My "equipment" includes a Pentax MZ-10 TTL SLR with a 28-70mm Pentax lens, as well as a Tokina 80-200mm Telephoto lens for extended range photo's. I tend to use 100/200 ISO film from Kodak. As far as digital gear goes, it's nothing special. I use a Canon PowerShot S50 5.1MP camera with 2 x 512MB CF cards for extended photo excursions and a Casio EXILIM Z-850 8.1MP ultracompact digital camera with a single 2GB Ultra II SD card.

My current photography wish list is:

- Nikon D80 10.2MP Digital SLR Camera or Nikon D200 10.2MP Digital SLR Camera.
- Nikkor 18-200mm AF-D ED VRII Lens.
- Nikkor 75-300mm AF-D ED VRII Lens.
- 2 x 4GB Sandisk Ultra IV SD Cards.
- Nikon SB-800 Speedlight Bounce Flash.
- Manfrotto/Giotto outdoor tripod.
- A set of professional Hoya or Cokin filters (Such as, but not limited to: Circular polarizer, 81A, 81B, Split hard-edge polarizer/neutral density filter, neutral density filter).
